BOWLING CLUB IMPROVEMENTS TO GREEN. (“Times-Age" Special.) A start has been made to sow fresh grass seed on the Carterton Bowling green. Both ends of the green have been worked, seed planted and a .hgni lop dressing applied. The centre rinks will be left untouched to enable games to be played over the Easter holidays, after which the whole surface of the green jvill be dressed and closed to play for the season. Apples for School Children. The first consignment of apples for school children arrived at the Carterton school yesterday. They were distributed to the children today. It is understood that a further consignment of apples will be sent after the Easter holidays. Personal Items. Mr and Mrs H. H. L. Meyrick, who have been visiting Carterton, have returned to Frankton Junction. Ladies’ Hockey Club. The annual meeting of the Carterton Ladies’ Hockey Club will be held tonight in the Fire Brigade Hall at 7.30 o’clock. The annual report and balance sheet will be received and the election of officers -for ihc ensuing season will take place. Post Office Hours. The arrangements and hours for the transaction of business at the Carterton Post Office during the Easter holiday period are as follow: Good Friday: Closed-in all branches except the telephone exchange. No rural mail or postman’s deliveries will be made. • . Easter Saturday: The usual Saturday hours of attendance will be observed. Postman’s and rural mail deliveries will be made as usual. Easter Monday: Closed in all branches except the telephone exchange. No rural mail or postman’s deliveries will be made.
