MASTERTON CLUB. McCullough memorial trophy (Notes by “The Bowler.”) The competition in connection with the McCullough Memorial trophy, in memory of the late esteemed and respected bowler. Mr Win McCullough, has been completed. A. Hendry is the winner with eleven wins. E. Holtham has ten wins and G. Blane 9 wins. Many interesting games have been played for the trophy, and at least 40 players have on various occasions taken part. __ Easter Saturday Tourney. On Saturday next, on the Masterton green, commencing at 9 a.m., a progressive pairs tournament will be played. As the tourney is an open one. entries from all bowlers will be gladly accepted. Easter Monday Gathering. The Park Club will hold a progressive pairs tourney on Monday next and invites entries from all bowlers. Hastings Carnival. Two teams from the Masterton Club will be represented at the Hastings tourney, which will be held during the coming holidays. The teams comprise: J. Russell, F. Mills. G. Hayne and O. Jones and F. Roberts, F. Percy, A. Stubbings and W. Hendry. Most of these bowlers will be accompanied by their wives on this holiday tour. Grady Medals. This challenge competition for the Grady medals was played yesterday afternoon on the Masterton green, between C. Perry and W. Christian, the holders of the medals, and Curtis and Higginson, the challengers. A number of the heads were played in semi-darkness, and on the 18th head the game had to be abandoned. As the Greytown pair were leading on the 18th head, the medals were handed to them. On the 6th head the scores were: Greytown 4, Masterton 4, but on the 10th head Greytown had a lead of 3 points. Greytown had a lead of 6 points on the 13th head, and the game was abandoned on the 18th head on account of darkness, the scores being: Greytown 18, Masterton 8.
