ACTIVITIES FOR COMING SEASON. GIRLS’ CHOIR PRACTICES. A special meeting of business girls was held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms last evening to make arrangements for the activities of the Interhouse Girls’ Choir for the coming season. There was a fair attendance and it was decided that the first practice be held in the Y.M.C.A. Rooms at 7 p.m. on Thursday. April 17. Those present were to contact other members of the choir and at the next practice they would decide which would be the most suitable practice night. INDOOR BASKETBALL. There was a good attendance at another meeting held to consider the season’s arrangements for indoor basketball, and the prospects for the coming season were most encouraging. The following teams have signified their intention of entering: — Ladies: McDuff’s, Graham & Co., Cody’s, McKenzie’s, Woolworth’s, Cathie’s, W.F.C. Hospital, State Kitchenette, Bouzaid’s, Garages, Lancers and Leecroft. Men: Bouzaid’s. Vesta Batteries, Reliance, W.F.C.A., Woolworth’s, State Kitchenette. It was agreed that • the games be played on a Tuesday evening and the competition games commence on May 6. Practice games will be controlled by the committee on April 22 and 29, and other practice games may be arranged with Mr. Gaze, Y.M.C.A. Secretary. The following committee was elected to control the competition: Timekeeper, Mr. G. Davis; scorers, Messrs. K. K. Morris and W. R. Pawson; team steward. Mr. F. Williams;’door-keeper, Mr. F. Graham; practice times, Mr. C. Gaze; publicity. Mr. D. Minifie; secretary, Mr D. Costello. Nomination and registration of all teams are to close with Mr. D. Costello, secretary of the Wairarapa Interhouse Association, on Friday. April 18. A condensed set of Men’s Indoor Basketball Rules has been compiled and is available from the secretary.
