SHOT DOWN BY BRITISH BOMBER. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. April 6. On its way out to Brest on Thursday night one heavy R.A.F. bomber was followed by a Messerschmitt 110. The enemy was Hying along 300 feet below and for five minutes the rear gunner watched for an opportunity. Then he fired 150 rounds and saw that the bullets had entered the Messerschmitt's fuselage near the cockpit. The enemy made- a tight loop and then dived toward the sea. leaving a trail of smoke behind. A dull red glow shone through the haze and then was suddenly extinguished. The bomber then went on io Brest and joined in the attack- on the docks, where the Scharnhors! and Gneisenau are sheltering.
