CHILDREN’S HOME
MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE. MEETING IN MASTERTON. The monthly meeting of the committee of the Masterton Methodist Children’s Home was hold at the Home last night, the chairmanr, Mr F. E. YVells, presiding. Other board members present were Mesdames Daniell. Elliott. Kings. Miss Burton. Messrs Judd, Nicol. Handyside, Whitlock, Wellington, the Rev Kings, Dr Prior. The matron was also in attendance. Apologies for absence were received from Mrs Cocker and Mr A. H. Daniell. The financial statement for March was presented and adopted, and accounts amounting to £6O 9s 7d were passed for payment. Correspondence was dealt with concerning the possible adoption of a boy from the Home, and application had been made by a lady to have the care of another of the boys. It was reported that the health of the 27 children in the Home was good, and everything was going along in a satisfactory manner. The matron had received a visit from a young lady who was once in the Home and was now following the nursing profession, and was very happy in her work. Owing to his projected departure from the district, the assistant-secre-tary resigned his office. This was received with regret, and Mr V 7. Watson was elected to fill the position.
