MEAN THEFT
I FRUIT STOLEN FROM SOLDIER'S I WIFE. — ' I VICTIM WORKING TO SUPFORT i CHILDREN. A particularly mean theft is reported ' in Masterton. A Masterton woman | whose husband is with the Expedition-j ary Force, and who has been compelled ; to secure employment in order to supplement the Army allowance for herself and her two children had made I arrangements to sell the fruit from her small orchard. The trees were' stripped before she was able to sell 1 the fruit, and in addition, two cases of' walnuts which she had picked and. placed in a shod were also stolen. ! It is suggested by the person who re-! ported the occurrence, that perhaps! those responsible for taking the fruit.! will, under the circumstances, make amends for this action and recompense I the owner for her loss. ; •
