>. — GERMAN EXPECTATIONS USE OF SHIPS IN PACIFIC. MANNED BY NAZI CREWS. (By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, March 31. The Tokio newspaper “Asahi” declares that Germany may ask Japan to provide warships which German crews would operate in the Pacific. “The United States’ action in exchanging destroyers in return for British bases might be paralleled within the Axis, because Germany has great expectations in connection with the Japanese navy’s future role,” the paper says.
