WOMEN’S INSTITUTE MEETING AT DYERVILLE. (“Times-Age” Special.) At the annual meeting of the Dyerville Women’s Institute, Mrs. Rowlands presided over a fair attendance of members. The resignation of the president, Mrs. A. Jamieson, was accepted with regret. The following officers were elected for the ensuing year:—President, Mrs. Rowlands; vice-presidents, Mesdames Campbell Smith and J. Harris; secretary, Miss K. Martin; committee, Mesdames Jamieson, L. Harris, O’Keefe, M. Wilkie, Parrity, Bain. Chapman, C. Smith, Todd and Miss K. Smith. The silver cup for most points for the year was won by Mrs. Charles Smith. A vote of thanks was passed to Mrs. L. Harris for a gift of silk stockings for competition in aid of the funds, and to the Hall Committee for the proceeds of a dance. ' Mesdames H. Warren and L. Harris were the hostesses. Swimming Club. The committee of the Swimming Club met on Wednesday night, when Mr. C. W. Skill presided over a good attendance.' Before commencing the ordinary business a motion of sympathy was passed with Mr. D. C. Lyon in the death of his mother. The secretary reported receipts from the recent carnival as £l2 odd. It was decided that the net profit be divided between the soldiers parcel fund and the national appeal. A sum of £6 odd from the ladies’ committee, and a further sum of £4 to be given to the Borough Council to improve the ladies’ dressing room. The secretary was empowered to pay accounts and orders, and with the ladies’ committee to purchase the ■trophies for points prizes. It was decided a social evening be arranged at which the trophies are to be presented. A discussion took place on the club's effort to be made on Appeal Day, and it was decided to hold a mock court.
