According to an informed Greek source, Greece is preparing to divert half a million troops into a northern campaign, leaving 300,000 to hold the Albanian front. The Belgrade correspondent of the Associated Press states that American aeroplanes flown by the R.A.F. from Cairo have begun to arrive St airports on the Greek mainland. HOSTAGES TAKEN ITALIAN ACTION IN GREECE AND ALBANIA. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 19. In contravention of the ordinary rules of international law the Italians have taken hostages from the Greek and Albanian civil populations. This was announced in the House of Commons by the Foreign Under-Secretary, Mr. Butler, when replying to a question. The hostages, he said, numbered about 200 Greeks and 250 Albanians and consisted of leading citizens and priests, together with old men, women and children. They were taken from 54 towns and villages in the Greek province of Epirus and in southern Albania and were marched to concentration camps in northern Albania. GREEK SUCCESSES MR.
