GUN DOGS

WAIRARAPA CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING SUCCESSFUL YEAR REVIEWED. FUTURE PROSPECTS BRIGHT. The annual general meeting of the Wairarapa Gun Dog Club was held last evening in the A. and P. Rooms, Perry Street, Masterton. There was a large attendance of members presided ovex- by the president, Mr W. Harding. The annual report and balance sheet were adopted. "The finances of the club had considerably improved and the future of the club seemed assured," stated the annual report. "From a position of debt the club had come through a very successful season to show a credit balance which was a compliment both to the hard-working secretary-treasurer and every member of the committee. Several trials were held during the year, including the North Island championship meeting, and the club had on each occasion shown a small profit. The president wished members a successful season and especially welcomed new members. He particularly thanked the donors of cash and trophies and property owners for the use of grounds, the ladies for their unfailing help with refreshments. as well as many others for generous service in the club’s interests.

The election of officers resulted as follows: —Patron, Mr C. E. Grey; president, Mr W. Harding: deputy-presi-dent, Mi- J. Bouzaid; vice-presidents, Messi’s G. F. Birkett, A. Mclvor and W. Trengrove; secretary, Mr M. A. Rawlins; treasurer, Mr D. P. Donald; committee, Messrs D. Andrews, R. V. Mason, H. J. S. Smith, A. Mclvor; hon auditor. Mr D. B. Curry. The honorarium of the secretary was fixed at £3 3s, and that of the auditor £1 Is.

The secretary was empowered lo purchase all goods on behalf of the dub to ensure against overlapping. The subscription was fixed at the same as last season, 7s 6d.

It was decided by a subsequent committee meeting to hold a gun dog trial in the near future.
