AN AMAZING FEAT—A 23-year-old flying instructor has been awarded the A.F.M. for a remarkable feat of skill and courage. He was flying a twin-engined training aircraft during formation flying when the fallowing aircraft collided with his machine, severing the starboard wing just beyond the engine. The sergeant succeeded in flying his badly-damaged aircraft for two miles to “force-land" it in a field.
