A lengthy discussion took place on the method of electing a general committee, and it was finally agreed, on the motion of Mr. Carruthers, that the General Committee consist of twelve members —nine from the county (who would be elected by the Women’s Patriotic Committee in each district), and three from the Borough (who would be representatives of women’s organisations). The general committee would meet and elect an executive committee of five members. The motion was seconded by Mr F. Schormann and carried. It was decided, that the various country organisations should meet shortly and select their members. The meeting closed with a vote of thanks to the chair.
At a subsequent meeting of Eketahuna ladies, it was decided that Mesdames E. M. Simmers, F. Schormann and Miss N. Greathead represent the various borough organisations on the general committee of the Eketahuna District Women’s War Service Auxiliary.
