LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST RAIN AND FLOODING. SOUTHERLY CHANGE COMING. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— GENERAL SITUATION: An extensive cyclonic depression which has approached from the north, has now reached the Cook Strait region, and will probably move away clowly to the south-west. FORECAST: Winds varying at first, but strong southerlies later; weather dull with further rain and some floods likely, cooler temperatures. FURTHER OUTLOOK: A continuance of southerly weather with conditions improving slowly.
