RIFLE EXERCISES
COMPETITION FOR R.S.A. CUP. C COMPANY PLATOON SUCCESSFUL. Keen interest was taken by the public at the Park on Saturday afternoon in a rifle exercises competition among local Territorial units for a silver cup donated by the R.S.A. Teams representing Kith Platoon C Company. 14th Platoon, C Company, and the 19th Platoon D Support Company competed. The judges were Major J. W. Bird, E.D.. and Captain Jones. Lieut. C. E. Rogers explained the manoeuvres to the public over a broadcasting system. A high standard was set by all teams, and applause was frequently given. The winning team was the 14th Platoon. C Company, under Sergeant H. Jones. Tito leader received the cup from the Army Queen. Miss Marion Holdsworth. On the completion of the competition a combined exhibition was given by the teams. The smartness and the general turnout of the men reflected creditably on the instruction they had received.
