LATEST OFFICIAL FORECAST STRONG WINDS AND RAIN. SOUTHERLY CHANGE COMING. The following official weather report and forecast was issued by the Meteorological Office, Wellington, at noon today:— GENERAL SITUATION.—A cyclonic disturbance centred near Whangarei is now moving in a southerly direction. FORECAST. — Strong north-eas-terly winds rising to gale force in exposed positions. Weather dull with further rain. Heavy falls are likely in the ranges. Temperatures moderate. FURTHER OUTLOOK.—Southerly change. A slow improvement should begin on Wednesday.
