WOOL MARKET
DUNEDIN APPRAISEMENT. REPRESENTATIVE QUALITY. (By Telegraph—Press Association.! « DUNEDIN, March 14. The fourth wool appraisement of the Dunedin schedule this season, in which catalogues totalling 20,253 bales were submitted to the official appraisers, was completed today. The offering comprised mostly ewe wool, with only a small percentage of hogget wool, and though some early shorn wool was included, the bulk of the offering was shorn and rather heavier in condition and a little more wasty than that of previous offerings. The official report of the Dunedin Slock Agents and Woolbrokers’ Association states that the quality was representative of the province, from crossbreds to merinos. Crossbreds, from South Otago and Southland opened up in good condition and generally were bright and well grown. Seed was in evidence in a number of clips and detracted from the value. There was also a sprinkling of very attractive merinos and halfbreds. Top price of the appraisement was 21d., realised by two bales of super merino. Another lot of three bales of super combing merino realised 19jd. March 28 has been fixed as prompt date for the appraisement. The fifth appraisement has been arranged for April 18. _______
