NATIONAL PARTY

ADDRESS BY MRS D. SIMPSON. AT Y.M.C.A. NEXT WEEK. On Wednesday next, March 19, an interesting talk will be given at 2.30 p.m. at the Y.M.C.A. under the auspices of the Women’s Committee of the local National Party by Mrs Dunean Simpson, who is well known in the Rangitikei district, where she has taken a prominent part in local and national organisations. For many years she was president of the Marton branch of the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union, president of the Wellington central executive, and has been at various times organiser of its first Book Club, Dominion treasurer, vice-president, and member of the Dominion Advisory Board. She is also a keen member of the National Council of Women and other national organisations.

Mrs Simpson was In England before the war broke out. In August, 1938, she was leader of the Women’s Division of the Farmers’ Union delegation to the conference in London of the Associated Countrywomen of the World, and remained in England until the latter end of last year when she returned to New Zealand. She has much to tell of the trip out, of war conditions in England and of the part played by women in the national war effort.

Members of local wartime organisations will find much of interest in Mrs Simpson’s talk and in the questions which will be permitted to follow it.
