HOME GUARD FULL ATTENDANCE AT PARADES (“Times-Age" Special.) A full attendance of the Home Guard is recorded at the parades on Monday evenings. The Mauriceville unit is now fortunate in having suitable lighting facilities staged by the Tararua Electric Power Board, thus enabling open air drill to be engaged in. On Tuesday evenings a physical culture specialist class is conducted by an expert instructor from Wellington. The members who attend this class will ultimately be responsible for training the local units in physical culture. Agricultural Lime. The local output of lime during the past week exceeded 700 tons. Personal. Mrs K. S. Baine (Wellington) and her daughter Valarie are staying with Mr and Mrs J. A. Baine. N.Z. Red Cross Society. It is hoped there will be a good attendance of members at the Mauriceville East Hall on Monday. March 17, when the annual meeting of the subcentre of the N.Z. Red Cross Society will be held. The ladies have worked enthusiastically for some months past in providing garments, etc., for the refugees and soldiers. Croquet. Two Mauriceville players. Mesdames J. E. McKeown and J. L. McArley, are to be congratulated on bringing home the B and C championship honours, respectively, in connection with the Wairarapa croquet competitions.
