TIRAUMEA

SOCIAL GATHERING SOLDIERS ENTERTAINED. (“Times-Age" Special.) In the Tiraumea Hall three soldiers, Messrs B. Savage, V. O'Brien and P. O’Donnell, were entertained at' a social gathering. Mr Scott Raleigh spoke on behalf of the residents of the district and friends, wishing the guests the best of luck, and Mrs R. J. Harman. Senr., presented a watch to each soldier. Musical honours were accorded the soldiers by the large number of residents present. Music for the dancing was provided by Mrs G. Houlbrooke and Mr N. Hislop. Home Guard. The weekly parade of the Home Guard was well attended and various phases of instruction carried out.
