CHURCH SERVICES
The Holy Communion will be celebrated at St. Matthew’s Church. Masterton, tomorrow at 8 a.m., and at Taueru at 9.45 a.m. Archdeacon Rich will be the preacher at 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. at St. Matthew’s Church. The afternoon services at Rangitumau and Kopuaranga and the evening service at Kuripuni will be conducted by the Rev. V. W. Joblin.
Harvest thanksgiving services will be conducted by the Rev. John Davie in Knox Church on Sunday. Gifts, which will be sent to the Presbyterian Orphanage, may be left at the church on Saturday morning. A service will also be held at Matahiwi.
Special meetings will be held at the Salvation Army barracks tomorrow, when Cadet Bernice Fairbrother will be given a farewell prior to entering Training College in Wellington. She is well known in Masterton, and will leave on Thursday to be trained as an officer. She will take part in the services tomorrow and will be the chief speaker at the evening meeting. The services at the Masterton Methodist Church tomorrow will be conducted by Rev. H. S. Kings and Mr C. R. Goudge. At the morning service Mr Kings will speak on "Making the Most of Your Ministry,” and in the evening Mr Goudge will take as his subject. "Three Men in the Cart.” There will be an afternoon service at Mt. Bruce. The choir will visit the Masterton Hospital at 4 p.m.. and hold a choral service. At Kuripuni there will be a harvest thanksgiving service at 7 p.m. Mr Kings will speak on “Seedtime and Harvest.” The choir, under the direction of Mr W. Davies, will render appropriate music. The harvest thanksgiving will continue with a social gathering imd sale of goods on Monday night. The service tomorrow morning at the Masterton Baptist Fellowship in the Y.M.C.A. will be conducted by Mr F. Milner, of Island Bay. Sunday School and Bible Class will be held at 10 a.m. On Wednesday the Rev. M. J. Eade, who is visiting the Baptist Churches of New Zealand while on his furlough from missionary work in India, will give an illustrated address on the hil Icountry of Tripura. India.
