CARTERTON SALE
SHEEP AND PIG PRICES EASIER. CATTLE MAKE LATE RATES. Messrs. Wright, Stephenson and Co., Ltd., report: There was an easing in prices for sheep and pigs at yesterday s Carterton sale, and cattle made late rates. Several pens of old ewes came forward and were practically unsaleable. Store lambs also met with a very dragging sale. The following are prices:— Sheep:—Fat ewes, Bs. 6d„ 10s.. Ils. 6d.. to 165.: fat wethers. 18s. 3d. to 215.; fat lambs, 18s. 6d. to 205.; ewe lambs. 13s. Bd. to 14s. 4d.; wether lambs, Bs. 9s. 9d„ 10s. 2d., 13s. Bd.; b.f. lambs. Ils.; fiveyear ewes, Ils.; old ewes, Is. 6d. to 4s. 6d.: one-shear S.D. rams, £3 to £4 10s. Cattle:—Springing heifer, £8 to £8 10s.; spring cows, £8; cows and calves. £4 195.. £5 2s. to £5 145.; fat cows. £4. £6 to £8 12s. 6d.: store cows. £2. £2 12s. 6d. Pigs: Baconers. £2 15s. to £2 16s. and £3 Bs.; porkers. 345.. 375. 6d. to £2 45.; store pigs, 165.; slips, 13s. to 155.; weaners (good). 9s. 6d., 10s.. 12s. to 135.. weaners, ss„ 7s. 6d„ Bs. 6d.; chopper, £2
