AUSTRALIA’S POPULATION. .. Australia’s population at September 30 1940, was 7,050,084, according to a return issued by the Commonwealth Slatistician. During the nine months of .1940 covered by the return the population increased by 52,758 —10,862 by net migration and 41.896 by natural increase. Increases were shown in all States except South Australia and Tasmania.
