DAIRY HERDS
<, TESTING OPERATIONS WAIRARAPA GROUP. FIGURES FOR FEBRUARY. The Wellington-Hawke’s Bay Herd Improvement Association reports having tested 39,605 cows in February. The average cow produced 6141 b milk of 4.98 average test, yielding 30.551 b but-ter-fat. The highest group in the association was that of Woodville, wherein 1457 cows averaged 34.21 b of butterfat. The highest herd in the association was one of 20 cows which averaged 491 b of fat and the highest cow in the association produced 941 b of butterfat for the 30-day period.
