OFFICIAL OPENING TODAY. MANY SOCIAL ACTIVITIES ELIMINATED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. Because of the war. the nineteenth conference of Rotary Clubs in New Zealand is being confined largely to business and many of the social activities usually associated with the assembly have been eliminated. The official opening took place today by the Mayor, Mi- Hislop. Mr D. A. Ewen presiding. Mr Ewen said the number of clubs was 26 and the membership 1462.
