LITTLE TROUBLE
IMPRESSMENT OF VEHICLES. POSITION IN DUNEDIN. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, March 8. The impressment of motor vehicles has occasioned little trouble here. Sixty motor-cycles and 90 trucks were delivered yesterday to the Army Department, representing 95 per cent, of the commandeer. In the Southern Military District, the requirement by the end of April will be more than 1000 vehicles. The trucks commandeered were already in commission this morning. Two convoys of 60 vehicles each left with equipment for brigade manoeuvres in the neighbourhood of Ashburton. COLLECTING DETAILS ACTIVITIES IN HAWKE'S BAY. (Bj' Telegraph—Press Association.) NAPIER, March 9. No impressments of vehicles have been reported in Hawke's Bay as yet, though during the past week or so representatives of the Transport Department have been collecting details •of motor-lorries and motor-cycles in the Napier and Hastings districts. The inquiries seem to indicate that what would amount to a census of new or comparatively new vehicles available in the province is being taken.
