MASTERTON BRANCH. MONTHLY MEETING. Miss Tankersley presided and Mrs Jansen led the devotions reading, a portion of the 14th chapter of St. Mark at the monthly meeting of the Masterton branch of the Women’s Christian Temperance Union. Miss Tankersley signified her willingness to attend the Dominion Convention which is to be held during March in Nelson. The April meeting will take the form of an at home at No. 7 Johnstone Street, for which Mrs Speight received the thanks of the meeting. A resolution was passed regarding children selling art union tickets. The Temperance fact as supplied by the president reads as follows: —"The most dangerous traffic on the roads today is the drink traffic." A letter was received, from Mrs Norrie. Dominion Superintendent of Seamen’s Rests, gratefully acknowledging the parcel sent from the Masterton Union at Christmas time. A profitable meeting terminated with the Temperance Doxology and the pronouncing of the Benediction by Miss Tankersley.
