EKETAHUNA SALE. GOOD COMPETITIONS FOR LAMBS. Messrs. Dalgety and Co., Ltd. report as follows on their weekly Eketahuna Sale as follows:—A large yarding of all classes of sheep, and a special entry of 70 winter calving cows and heifers came forward and attracted a large and representative attendance, buyers being present from the Manawatu, Dannevirke, Wellington, Wairarapa and all the local districts. The quality of the sheep yarded was not up to that of our previous sale, but prices were very much on a par. Good rape lambs met with good competition. The sale of dairy cattle was spirited, and any cows showing quality made from £9 to £9 ss, lOgns. to £ll. Backward sorts making £7 to £B. We report a good clearance at prices which must be considered very satisfactory, and the following list of our principal sales will indicate values — Sheep:—Carry over ewes, two-tooth, 205., 215., to 225. Id.; cull m.a. ewes, 19s. 10s.; f.m. ewes. 12s. to 15s. 7d.; fattening ewes. 6s. 7s (id., to Bs.; woolly wether lambs, 15s. 3d., 15s. 6d., to 15s. 9d.; medium ditto, 12s. to 13s. 7d.; small] ditto, 9s. 7d. to 10s. Id.; shorn wether lambs, 14s Bd. to 155.; medium ditto, Ils. 4d. to 125.; small ditto. Bs. 6d.
