WEDDINGS

RUTHERFORD—YALDEN. The marriage was solemnised at St. , Matthew’s Church, Masterton, recent--1 ly, when Eileen Constance, daughter of Mr and Mrs C. Yalden, Cole Street, Masterton, was married to Albert Edward. youngest sen of Mrs E. and the late Mr F. Rutherford of Berhampore, Wellington. Archdeacon E. J. Rich officiated, and Mr Miller Hope presided at. the organ. The church was beautifully decorated by friends of the bride. > The bride wore a lovely gown of French satin cut on classical lines with a long train, and her embroidered veil was held in place with a halo and sprays of orange blossoms. She carried a lovely shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Misses Muriel Rutherford (chief) and Kathleen Rutherford. They both wore long gowns of hyacinth blue taffeta with shirred sleeves and bodice. Two little flowergirls, Pat and Evelyn Yeatts, wore long gowns of coral pink taffeta. They all carried shower bouquets. . Mr J. Dalahunt, of Wellington, was best man and Mr S. Rutherford was the groomsman. A reception was held at the Prince of Wales Hotel where Mrs Yalden and Mrs Rutherford received the guests. Mr and Mrs Rutherford later left for the north on their honeymoon. Their future home will be in Wellington. CUNNINGHAM—REYNOLDS. A quiet wedding took place in St. Patrick’s Church. - Master ton. when Pauline Katherine, second daughter of Mr and Mrs A. Reynolds, Masterton. was married to Martin Francis, third son of Mr and Mrs Cunningham, Weraiti, Masterton. The bride, who was escorted by her father, looked charming in a smart midnight blue frock featuring shirring on the neck and the sleeves. The skirt' was plainly tailored in sunray pleats. | She wore an attractive navy model hat and carried a bouquet of Easter lilies. | The bridesmaid, Miss Esme Hunt, wore a navy taffeta suit with hat to match. Her bouquet was of pale pink and rose asters. . Cn leaving the church the bride was presented with a gold horse shoe by her nephew, David Marsh, while Pamela Marsh handed her a lucky shoe. After the- ceremony a reception was held at the home of the bride’s parents. The bride's mother received the guests in a navy beaute frock with hat to tom?. She wore a shoulder spray of mauve Crocus- lilies. Mrs Farrow. • Wellington, aunt of the bride, who as- ; listed the hostess, wore a smart navy costume. Trooper Cunningham is a member of . ihe New Zealand overseas forces.
