CAMPAIGN IN ERITREA TWO MORE TOWNS TAKEN. ROYAL AIR FORCE ACTIVE. A Reuter’s message from Khartoum, broadcast by the 8.8. C.. states that British forces in Eritrea have occupied a town about 25 miles north of Keren without meeting with enemy opposition. Another town 30 miles northwest of Keren has also been occupied. It was found to have been abandoned by the enemy. The R.A.F. has bombed troop concentrations and ammunition dumps* with good effect and has raided Assab and Massawa.

In Italian East Africa air operations have been continued in support of the army offensive on all fronts, stores, troop concentrations and supply dumps were attacked in the Keren area with good effect. At Assab bombs were dropped on a large transport yard while near Massawa ammunition stores and other military objectives were raided. A railway bridge at Awash, near Addis Ababa, was attacked. One direct hit caused damage to the bridge and track. Further south, aircraft of the South African Air Force bombed Ferrandi aerodrome.
