Daniell (Masterton) Good entries and quality of a high standard were features of the Romney Marsh (open classes), said the judge. Mr J. McL. Blair. Competition was close and he was pleased to see an improvement in Romneys, both as regards the carcase and the wool. The champion ram was probably one of the best sheep of its breed in the country today, a very well developed and grown sheep, with splendid feet and bone, a particularly good carcase, carried on short, strong legs. The reserve 'champion ram was close up. The reserve champion ewe was an outstanding animal, possessing a great body and particularly good fleece of heavy, bright lustrous wool. Both the championship winners were well brought out.
