The Rev. F. J. Tyles. Howick. has been appointed by the Auckland PresI bytery as its moderator for the next i six monht.s The Hon. D. G. Sullivan. Minister of Industries and Commerce, will return to Wellington tomorrow from the South Island. The death has occurred of Lady Chamberlain, widow of Sir Austen Chamberlain, former Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, a London cablegram reports. Mr K. J. Holyoake, Motuoka, is making a tour of the Pahiatua electorate. He will contest the Pahiatua seat at the forthcoming election in the National Party interests. The Hon. P. K. Paikea .representative of the Maori race on the Executive Council left Wellington for Auckland by the Limited express last night. He will return to Wellington on Tuesday morning. Mr. G, R. Russell, son of Mr. Robt. Russell, of Masterton, and who had been for some years on the staff of Messrs. Fagans Motors, Ltd., Masterton. has left to join the Air Force at Harewood. Before leaving Masterton Mr. Russell was entertained by the staff of Messrs Fagans Lid., and made a presentation.
