One I length; half. Boaform was fourth , Time. 1.40 2-5. Appeal Upheld. The appeal of apprentice jockey R. iG. Howell has been upheld by the l Racing Conference judges. Howell I was suspended for two months by the judicial committee of the Wellington Racing Club for careless riding on Ptakahanga in the Telegraph Handicap on the opening day of the recent summer meeting. He appealed to the Wellington District Committee which reduced the term of suspension to one month. It was against this decision that Howell appealed to the conference. His deposit was also refunded. Bound for Rand wick. Beau Vite and Proud Fox will be prepared for autumn racing by F. | McGrath, of Randwick, who prepared! Beau Vite for his successful campaign] last spring. *Proud Fox is a useful staying four-j year-old by Foxbridge, and though hoi hu< not had a winning turn this season, he has had three seconds and two thirds in seven starts. At Trentham he was very unlucky to be caught by Wardress in the Racing Chib Handicap, being defeated on the line by half a head.
