ALFREDTON
HOME GUARD PROGRESS OP MOVEMENT. ("Times-Age" Special.) Mr. R. W. Kcbbell. who is a member of the central executive for the Emergency Reserve Corps in the Ekctahunn area and who is organising the Home Guard in the Alfredlon area, reports as follows: The response to the call to enrol has been really wonderful and by next parade night (Saturday, al 8 p.m.< we expect to have practically every reasonably fit man in the district enrolled: —The figures to date arc: Home Guard. 61; E.P.S., attached to the Home Guard for training, 12: E.P.S.. unattached. 7: total. 80. The following have been recommended to the committee for appointment: Company Commander. J. H. Macdonald; platoon commanders, .1, W. McKay and H. C. Percy; Company Ser-geant-Major. C.P. H. Howard: company orderly. D. M. Parsonson; platoon sergeants. A. A. Macdonald. H. W. Mosen and G. S. Napier: section leaders. H. Burch, C. A. Dickens. K. Groves. R, G. Low, J. P. Percy, D. Watson. The Alfredlon and Tiraumea district:. are expected to form accompany between them. The enrolments have been so good in both districts that the result will be an extra "outsize" company
