FEATHERSTON
WOMEN’S INSTITUTE KAHUTARA MEETING ("Times-Age" Special.) A meeting of Kahutara Women's Institute was held yesterday, Mrs. McKenna presiding over a very good attendance of members. One new member was enrolled and welcomed. A good number of nominations for members of the committee were received. A vote of sympathy was passed to Mcsdames Hood and Harland in their illness. Arrangements were made for the visit of Miss Hazel Johnston, of Massey College. Donations towards soldiers' parcels were received from Mcsdames R. Fenwick. Pope and Playle. The competitions resulted as follow: —■Best bottle preserved plums, Mrs. D. Wilson 1, Mrs. S. Fenwick 2, Mrs. Pope 3. Best bloom: Mrs. Pope 1. Mrs. McKenna 2. Mrs. Dully 3. The hostesses were Mcsdames: Dully, Elbe, Playle and Rogers. Personal. Mrs. McDonald, Wellington, is visiting Featherston and is the guest of Mrs. N. C. C. Shepherd. P. & A. Society Committee. The monthly meeting of the general committee Will be held on Saturday at 10.30 o’clock.
