In his evidence before (he Senate Foreign Relations Committee on the 1 and and Lease Bill, the President of Harvard University 'Mr J. B. Conant* urged the United States to pledge an all-out effort to ensure the defeat of the Axis Powers. Mr Conant said: "If the United States follows the advice of those who would limit aid. or advocate a negotiated peace, the country will be entering on a policy fraught with the gravest risk."
