NEXT SESSION
OPENING ON MARCH 12. AFTER ARRIVAL OF NEW GOVERNOR-GENERAL. | ißy Telegraph—Press Association/ WELLINGTON. This Day. | Announcement that the session of Parliament was to open on Wednesday, March 12, was made yesterday by the Prime Minister. Mr. Fraser. The opening ceremony will be performed by the new Governor-General. Sir Cyril Newall, who is now on his way to New Zealand to take up his vice-regal duties. Parliament is unlikely to remain long in session after the formal opening, and when lhe Address-in-Reply debate is finished an adjournment will probably be taken till the Financial Statement is ready for presentation. This will possibly be about June. The' programme for the session is to be discussed at a caucus of members of the! Parliamentary Labour Party to be held, on February 18. |
