The Hon. P. C. Webb. Minister of Labour, returned to Wellington yesterday from the South Island. The Hon. H. G. R. Mason. Minister of Education, travelled from Wellington to Wanganui yesterday. The Hon. F. Langstone, Minister of I Lands, returned to Wellington yesteri day from Hawke's Bay and the Wairai rapa. : The Rt. Hon. P. Fraser. Prime Minis- ! ter. travelled from Wellington to Pal-, j merston North last night. He visited I Halcombe this morning and opened a ' new school. This afternoon he opened I the new intermediate school in Pal- ' merston North. Mr. Fraser will return to Wellington tonight. The Hon. H. L. Anthony, Assistant I Treasurer and Assistant Minister of ! Commerce in the -Australian Commonwealth Government, will arrive in New Zealand soon, and he will be met on arrival at Auckland by the Minister of Agriculture. Mr Barclay. | on behalf of the New Zealand Govern-! merit. Mr Anthony, who is a Country Party representative, is M.P. for .Rich-} mond. New South Wales. Captain A. H. Davey, master of the A water, who has retired from the mercantile service after 37 years with the Union Steam Ship Company of New Zealand, Ltd., was the guest of honour at a farewell function in Wellington last evening, given by the New Zealand Company of Master Mariners. Many of the captain's old shipmates were present. They wished him health and happiness in his retirement, and congratulated him on his long and successful career.
