BOY SCOUTS COLLECTION OF PARCELS. ("Times-Age" Special.) The local Boy Scout troop under Scoutmaster A. H. Gray, were busy on Saturday afternoon with the collection of parcels of old clothing. Though the drive was not on such a large scale as that held recently, nevertheless the result will keep the Ladies’ Committee busy in sorting, packing and despatching the clothing to Wellington. Show Successes. At the Feilding A. and P. Show. Master .Arthur Balfour's calf "Patch." secured two firsts in competition with calves born since July 1. 1940. The competition was particularly strong, being representative of well-known Jersey breeders of the Manawatu. At the Woodville .A. and P. Show on Saturday, "Patch" secured the first prize in open company against all comers, the judge on this occasion being Mr. Crosby, of Stratford. The calf was the winner of the Eketahuna group of the Tararua Calf Club’s competition held here in December, the judge being Mr F. V. Bryant, of Ruawhata. Master Balfour, who is the son of Mrs. D. H. Balfour, of Eketahuna. intends exhibiting "Patch" at the Pahiatua and Masterton A. and P. shows.
