Mrs T. S. West. Auckland, is staying with her mother. Mrs T. W. Wardell. Te Whiti.
Mrs P. J. Borthwick and family. “Eridge,” will leave on Monday to spend a fortnight at Paraparaumu Beach.
Miss Sophia Ginger. Hawera. yesterday attained her 102nd birthday. She is amazingly fit and active and still reads and writes and plays cards three nights a week. Though she does not rise till noon, she stays up till 10 p.m. She has spent 90 years in the Taranaki province and can recount thrilling pioneer memories. Asked to what she attributed her great age. she replied: “I did not lead a rackety life, which may be the reason."
