AIR FORCE BAND

VISITING MASTERTON NEXT .MONTH SEVERAL PUBLIC PERFORMANCES ARRANGED. IN AID OF QUEEN CARNIVAL. Thanks to the enterprise of the Air Force Queen Committee, Musterton is to enjoy a weekend visit from the Band of the Royal New Zealand Air Force. under the conduetorship of Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill. The band's performances in Mastorton will be in aid of the candidature of the Air Force Queen. Miss Jose Hosking. Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill was in Masterton yesterday afternoon making arrangements for the band’s visit, which will take place on Saturday and Sunday. March 8 and 9.

The band, on arrival from Wellington by train on the Saturday morning, will march to the Opera House and will appear the same afternoon at a gymkhana to bo held al the Solway Showgrounds. On Saturday evening a performance will be given at the Opera House. Oil Sunday tin open air eoneei't will bo given in Maslerton Park and in the evening a sacred concert in a local theatre. The band will probably visit Masterton Hospital on Monday morning before returning to Wellington by the afternoon train. The 58 members of the band will be the guests of Masterion residents during their stay here. PATRIOTIC WORK. "The band is being sent to Maslerton at the request of the Air Force Queen Committee and with the permission of the Minister of Defence.” said Flight Lieutenant Gladstone Hill, in an interview with a ‘Times-Age" representative yesterday afternoon.
