FEATHERSTON
HOME GUARD WEEKLY PARADE LAST NIGHT. ("Tjmes-Acc" Special.) The weekly parade of the Home Guard was held last night when about 61) were present. South Featherston being particularly well represented.
Group Commander Mr F. S. Hayes who has just finished a course of instruction at the Foxton Camp, gave a resume of the work to be done. Mr Allan White was the instructor, while Mr Kilsby took the physical drill. Several new members were enrolled. Mr Hayes stressed the point that more men should enroll. The Home Guard, he said, was neither political nor any particular religious body It was purely a guard in the event of emergency. During the evening a 20 minutes’ route march through the town took place Personal Items. Mrs Alan White is visiting relative'--at North Auckland. Miss M. Bloxam is to enter the Mas terlon Hospital to take her 60 hours V A.D. hospital training School Classes. The secondary and primary school have made the change over and al! classes are now accommodated in their new buildings
