WEDDING

PILLING—BUTCHER. The wedding was solemnised at St. John's Presbyterian Church. Greymouth recently of Beryl Myrtle, daughter of Lieutenant-Colonel and Mrs C. E. Butcher. Cowper Street Greymouth. and Richard George, son of Mr and Mrs George Pilling, of Dunedin. The Rev. A. D. Coburn officiated and Miss M. Coburn was at the organ. The church was decorated with pink and blue hydrangeas. The bride, who was escorted by her father, wore a frock of bouffant French silver-patterned faille, with a. veil of stiffened net. embroidered in the .same design as the frock, and arranged with a top-knot of orange blossoms. She carried a sheaf of Madonna lilies. The bride was attended by her sister. Miss Marjorie Butcher, who wore a gown of celestial blue embossed cloque, made on the same design as the bride’s frock. With it was worn a silver Juliet cap. studded with blue forget-me-nots, and her bouquet was of shell-pink malmaison carnations. .Mr H. Yates was best man.

The reception was held at the residence of the bride’s parents. The bride’s mother wore a frock of mist grey crepe with turban to match and a shoulder spray of violets and posy of flowers to tone. Miss Joan Butcher wore a dinner gown of Pacific blue figured crepe. Mrs Miller Hope (Masterton), aunt of the bride, wore a gown of black velvet, with pink floral shoulder spray.
