REGARDING PROCEEDS FROM SALE. Individual farmers who are donating stock to the drive in aid of the £ 1.000.000 Patriotic Fund are tn have the right to decide which queen candidate is to bo credited with the proceeds from the sale of their own stock. A decision to this effect was made at a meeting of the executive committee of the Masterton District Patriotic Committee, held yesterday and presided over by the Mayor. Mr T. Jordan.

It was decided that in the stock drive to be conducted by the Associated .Auctioneers per medium of district committees, each individual farmer be asked to nominate the queen candidate to whom his stock is to be allocated and his contribution be recorded accordingly.

The secretary. Mr G. T. O'Hara Smith, drew attention to a statement said to be freely circulated at a recent country sports meeting to the effect that a large percentage of the £l,OOO- - patriotic appeal proceeds was absorbed in administration costs. Major z\bel. Dominion organiser of the appeal. had authorised him to say that in the recent appeals conducted by him the administration expenses had been less than one per cent of the receipts. In connection with the present £1,000,000 patriotic appeal, the percentage of expenditure was considerably under one per cent.
