TRAINING LAST EVENING.

More than 200 men attended the weekly parade last night of the Mas- ; terton Home Guard and Emergency ! Precautions Unit. Twenty-five new . recruits were enrolled.

A marked improvement was noticeable m each branch of training which last night consisted of physical exercises. platoon drill, rifle exercises and. field signals. Field work will ba undertaken in the near future. The Masterton Unit Commander, Lieutenant A. L. Hibbs. D.C.M.. gave an interesting and enlightening lecture to N.C.O s. and officers who attended the instructional class on Tuesday night. In future N.C.O s. of the E.P.S. Unit will attend Tuesday night class of instruction with the Home Guard. Sergeant Major Nuttall will be in charge.
