This Day. *‘l think holders have been treated very frairly indeed —in fact the position could hardly be better " said Mr J W. Frater, chairman of the Auckland Stock Exchange, at the morning call, referring to the arrangements made for New Zealand holders of Broken Hill Proprietary shares to take up their rights under the new issue. "We owe a debt of gratitude to Mr Andrew Hamilton. president of the Stock Exchanges Association, for his successful negotiations with the Reserve Bank.’’ Mr Prater added. It was resolved to write a letter of congratulation to Mr Hamilton, Replying to a question Mr Erater said Broken Hill Proprietary shares would not be quoted ex rights on the Auckland Stock Exchange until they were so quoted in Australia—on February H.
