FIGURES CONTINUE TO GROW. > RECOGNITION OF LEADING i TOWNS. As national savings figures continue to grow and certain towns begin to ! assume a lead in percentage of depositors to population, the National Savings Committee has decided that the leading towns should be accorded some formal recognition of their high degree of merit. For the purpose, the 13 postal districts have each been supplied with a national savings flag—a large flag with a golden ground lettered "We lead— National Savings." The flag will always fly from the post office flag-pole in the town which leads the district in the percentage of national savings depositors to population. As another town assumes the lead the flag will be sent to the second town lor flying from the post office flag-pole there. The leading town will bo determined > each fortnight. The leading town in ; i the Dominion today is Waikaka. in the ! Invercargill district, with 53 per cent. In the 18 districts the leading towns are: Wellington Postal District.
