THREAT TO BULGARIA
TRAIN SERVICES HELI) UP IN HUNGARY REPORTS OF GERMAN TROOP MOVEM ENTS. DENIAL OF SOVIET CONSENT REPEATED. (By Tele-graph—Press Association—Copyright 1 LONDON. January 10. Il is officially announced in Budapest today that all passenger traffic on the Hungarian railways, except international expresses and workmen's trains, will cease at midnight tonight for three davs. Bad weather is given as the reason, but it has inevitably led to renewed reports of German troop movements into the Balkans.
Diplomatic circles in Vichy which frequently reflect news inspired from Germany today express the opinion that Germany intends to move in the Balkans and has got the Soviet agreement to it. The Soviet Government, on the other hand, has caused Moscow radio to repeat the previous Tass official news agency's denial made two days ago of German-inspired reports that Russia had consented to German troops entering Bulgaria. The Turkish official newspaper has thought it necessary to state once more that if German troops enter Bulgaria that country would be dragged into the war and yet another front would be open against the Axis.
