CARTERTON
BOWLING CLUB PROGRESSIVE RINK GAMES. (“Times-Age" Special.) The Cartertoil Bowling Club's progressive rink games were commenced on Saturday on a fairly fast green. Afternoon tea was provided and presided over by Mesdames Newbould and E. Smith, assisted by the Misses Newbould and Smith. Their efforts were greatly appreciated and a hearty vote of thanks was accorded them. The following were the results: G. Steven, H. Colson, Smith, DeLacey (s) beat E. Spark, S. Whyte. Underhill. W. "■’Whyte <s, 24 18; Boden, McCarty, W. Steven. Bain <s) beat Rayner Hawker Stent, Hughan Cs) 21/20; Pankhurst. Newbould, Aplin, G. Hart (,s> beat Kilmister, Garrett, W. Hart, J. C. Harp (st 23/20; Larsen. Hill, A, Thompson. Riggs <s> beat R. Thompson, Booth. Harris. Harrington <s> 25/16. WOMEN’S DIVISION WEEKLY CARD PARTY. There was a good attendance at the weekly card party held on Saturday evening by the Women's Division of the Farmers’ Union. The prizes were won by Mrs F. O'Keefe. Mrs Clayton and Mrs S. McCarty.
Sheep for Freezing Works.
The dry weather is causing sheep breeders to sell large numbers of their stock which have been sent to the freezing works. Last evening a very’ long train left the Carterton Railway Station for the freezing works at Wellington.

Mr E. A. King, of Karori was on a visit to his parents. Mr and Mrs D. T. King, on Saturday. Mr and Mrs F. C. Bryant, of Petone. were visitors to Carterton yesterday.
