DEFENCE EXPANSION. REDUCTION OF PETROL RATION. 'By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright > LONDON. January 10. The Department of Defence in Eire announced that bombs which were dropped by aircraft on Dublin on January 1 and 2 have been identified as German. The Minister of Justice stated that 80.000 of the local defence personnel have been transferred from the control of the police to the military, and a further 50000 have been attached to the police as an auxiliary force. Il is officially announced that from today the petrol ration in Eire is reduced to one-quarter of the normal allowance and the price has been fixed at 2s 2d a gallon in the Dublin zone and 2s 3d elsewhere.
