Damage Done by Wind. After a spell of calm weather the district was yesterday visited by strong wind which at times reached gale force, particular!}- in the Pigeon Bush area. At one stage parcels from a store delivery van could be seen hurled in all directions, many of them landing in an adjacent paddock. Damage was also done to gardens. Rain Needed. Rain is needed in the district. As a result of the extremely hot weather since Christmas the country bears a very dry appearance and creeks and springs are rapidly drying up.
